Tommy Goebel grew up in Parma, and played for the Parma Flyers organization before joining the Cleveland Barons.  As a Cleveland Baron in 1998, Tom and his team won the tier 1 National Championship, the only team from Ohio to ever accomplish this.  Following his youth hockey time with the Barons, Tom played junior hockey at age 15, and in his final season he was awarded MVP of the NAHL.  Tom went on to play 4 years of Division 1 College Hockey and graduated from The Ohio State University in 2008 when he was a team Captain and received team MVP.  Upon graduation, Tom began his six year professional career in both North America and Europe. Immediately following his playing career, Tom jumped into coaching with U18 Cleveland Barons. In his first year as a head coach, he led the U14 Barons to the organization's first Tier 1 League Championship. After three years as coach, Tom took on the role of Hockey Director for the Barons program. During his time as director, he founded the Cleveland Athletic Academy which features an online schooling option for Cleveland area players.
