2011 Elite Team

Head Coach: Jim Young

Jim is a native of Cleveland, Ohio.  Coach Young will be entering his third year as the 2011 Cleveland Barons Head Coach. Prior to this Coach Young served as a Head Coach of multiple teams throughout the Cleveland Barons Program. Jim played an instrumental part from the start of the Barons ADM Development program in 2015.  Prior to taking his role at the Barons, Jim served as the Assistant Varsity Coach at St. Edward High School for the past 10 years. Jim helped coach the team to 6 JV State Titles and 2 Varsity Runner-Up State Titles. Prior to this he was the head coach for Team Ohio’s U16/U18 Midget Major and Midget Minor teams.

Jim assists with many camps, skating clinics, and learn to play hockey programs around the Cleveland area. He has a combined 17 years of coaching experience on many different levels which gives him a great perspective of the game and what to focus on from the development side.

Jim carries a Level 3 USA Hockey Certification. He grew up in Cleveland playing for various AAA programs. He played for St. Edward High School earning 3 D1 State Titles and went on to play Junior A and College hockey.

Assistant Coach: Marc Rabic

Native Clevelander, Marc will be entering his 24th of season coaching. This will be Marc’s 7th season with the Barons, previously with the 2010 and 2007 Black and Barons Mite Development Program. Assistant to the General Manager of Ohio Prospects. Co-Founder Whale Super Skills. Marc’s coaching experience ranges from U16/U18, bantam, pee wees, squirts, mites, Learn to Play & High School. Marc has coached AAA & AA teams while also working as a skating and skills coach in off season programs and privately. Marc brings great energy and passion to the ice and is excited to be a part of players development. 


2011 Black Team

Head Coach:  Greg Brown

Coach Brown started his coaching career coaching in the CSHL with organizations such as North Olmsted, Parma, Parma Heights and Rocky River. He has over 25 years coaching with  the Cleveland Barons. He was a founding coach when the youth program began in 1993 coaching with the 88 Barons. Since then he has coached many different birth years including 90, 93, 95, 99, and 04 boys starting most of these teams at the “Team Cleveland” level and moving up thru Peewee into Bantam.  Once the Lady Barons started he moved to girls hockey and has coached all birthyears from U8 up to U14 Elite.  Many past players  of his have gone on to college, USHL, NHL careers including Carter Camper, Kelli Stack, Alex Nedelkovic and many more.
