Head Coach: Greg Soltes

Greg, a Barons alum, is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Greg was born and raised in Rocky River and played junior hockey on the east coast in the EJHL and AJHL before moving on to the NCAA. Greg is entering his fifth season as a head coach in the Barons organization (sixth overall) and his first with the 2012 birth year. He previously coached the 2008s and the 2009s where his team was a semi-finalist at the prestigious International Silver Stick AAA Minor Atom Finals in Whitby, Ontario. Greg was formerly an instructor with Turcotte Stick Handling Hockey School and ran the power skating program for the Rocky River Youth Hockey program in 2016/2017. In addition, he works with the Ohio Hockey Project and often runs Sunday skills for the Barons.

Head Coach: Tim Becka

Tim is a Cleveland native who grew up playing for various organizations in the Cleveland area and eventually playing for Xavier University. Over the years Tim has coached with the Cleveland Barons Red organization and most recently coached the 2011 Black Team. He has a background as a skating and skills coach, where he has over 11 year’s experience. He has worked with players of all ages from everything to the basics of skating to advanced power skating work. Tim also helps with several camps and power skating clinics in the Cleveland area.

Tim has a level 4 coaching certification from USA hockey and continues to seek out innovation techniques and coaching strategies.
