2017 Head Coach: Vince Mihalek

Vince is a native of Cleveland, Ohio with 30 years hockey experience. He grew up playing for the Cleveland Barons and eventually played Division I college hockey at Cornell University. Vince was a part of the 2010 ECAC and 2012 IVY League Championship teams. After retiring from playing, Vince quickly integrated himself into coaching. He now spends time outside of work helping our youth become the best student athletes possible. Vince looks forward to sharing his hockey experiences, motivating and mentoring hockey’s future through his energetic communication style. Vince is married to his wife, Giani and together they have three children - Vinny (6), Valentina (4) and Rome (8 mo.).

Assistant Coach: Mark Monaco

Coach Mark Monaco comes to the Cleveland Barons with multiple years of head coaching experience in the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League (CSHL). Growing up in Northeast Ohio, Mark had a competitive career with stints on the Cleveland Americans and Team Ohio.  He played at a AAA level throughout his career.  Mark led Normandy High School to multiple division titles and deep runs in the Ohio High School Hockey Association (OHSHA) state tournament.  He was a member of the OHSHA 2004 All Ohio All-Star team. His skill set, knowledge, and experience will provide tremendous value to the Cleveland Barons organization, and we are fortunate to have him as a member of our coaching staff.
