2015 BARONS - THIESSEN

Head Coach: Brad Thiessen

  Brad Thiessen was born in Aldergrove, British Columbia where he played minor hockey until the age of 16. Following that, he played 3 seasons of Junior A in the BCHL before heading to Northeastern University to play NCAA. In his Junior season, the Huskies made the NCAA tournament for the first time in 15 years. Brad was named a Hobey Hat Trick finalist and left school to sign a contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009. That was the beginning of his 12 years in pro hockey, including 5 appearances with Penguins in 2012. In 2016 he was part of the Lake Erie Monsters Calder Cup winning team, which was the first of his 6 years with the Monsters organization. Following the 2021 season he retired from playing and was hired as the Columbus Blue Jackets goaltending development coach which is his current role today. He has also served as the co-director of the Strongsville Mite program for the past 3 seasons. He and his wife Ashlee reside in North Ridgeville with their 3 kids, Nash 9, Brody 7, and Aubree 5.

2015 BARONS - THOMPSON

Head Coach: Jamee Thompson

Jamee Thompson grew up playing Elite and AAA level hockey. He played in the Mid-American Hockey Conference (MAHC). As a freshman at Gilmour Academy, he was invited to the Hockey Night in Boston Showcase. As a sophomore he transferred to the Padua Bruins and competed for states. Jamee is a proud graduate of John Carroll University. His coaching career began in 2021, as head coach for the 8u Cleveland Sharks. In 2022 he was head coach for a 2014/2015 summer travel team, the Cleveland Kraken. Jamee continued coaching at the 8u level for the Barons/Strongsville program and most recently head coached the 2015 Cleveland Barons Black team for the 2023-2024 season. He is also a coach for the 14U-18U Pre/Post teams, 3 outs academy. Jamee is also a coach for Fritsche Hockey Academy, working with players across all skill levels and ages. He is seasoned in developing individual players and moving them into their next level. He is a head coach for FHA Spring and Summer tournament teams. Jamee is consistently working to develop Elite players and enjoys the on and off ice skill development.
