September 2019 Monthly Team News

Barons Teams are off to a great start this season! Here is a brief recap and highlights for each team from the month of September:

  • 2011 Elite: The 2011 Elite Team started their season off with a trip to Michigan to take on Victory Honda and participation in the Cleveland Barons 216 Tournament Series Weekend here at home. Their practices have been fast paced with a skill development component.
  • 2010 Elite: The 2010 Elite Team started off their season extremely strong, going undefeated in their first 11 games!
  • 2010 Black: The 2010 Black Team beat a tough Buffalo Regals squad 5-2 after an initial loss of 2-1. Thereafter, they kicked off a great weekend at home with participation in the Cleveland Barons 216 Series Tournament Weekend.
  • 2009 Elite: The 2009 Elite Team took to the north, heading to Canada to play against some of the best teams in Ontario in the Toronto Marlboros International Friendship Tournament.
  • 2009 Black: The 2009 Black Team kicked off their season with a series of great wins against the Arctic Foxes and Philadelphia Little Flyers. To add, they have finished off September with sweeps against the Cleveland Jr. Jacks and Steel City Renegades.
  • 2008 Elite: The 2008 Elite Team has had some great wins to start their season beating Victory Honda, Compuware and Nashville.
  • 2008 Black: The 2008 Black Team is off to a great start going 11-4 in their first 15 games. They have won their last 4 in a row sweeping Niagara and Amherst.
  • 2007 Elite: The 2007 Elite Team has gotten off to a strong start, sweeping a Tier 1 Elite League Showcase with wins against Nashville, Fox Motors, Pittsburgh Penguins, Ohio Blue Jackets and Victory Honda. They have currently won 6 in a row and are ranked in the Top 15 in the Country!
  • 2007 Black: The 2007 Black Team has started off their season with a sweep of the Toledo Cherokee and last weekend had a big win against a tough South Hills team from Pittsburgh.
  • 2006 Elite: The 2006 Elite Team started their season off in Columbus going unbeaten against the Ohio Blue Jackets.
  • 2005 Elite: The 2005 Elite Team are off to a fast start going 6-1-1 to kick off their season. They have scored 46 goals for and only given up 10 in that span.
  • U15 Elite Team: The U15s started their season off in Buffalo at the Jr. Sabres Invitational. During their weekend in Buffalo, they beat a tough Niagara team to advance to the Championship Game. During their span of games in September, they also attended a Tier 1 Elite League Showcase where they took down a very good Dallas Stars Team.
  • U16 Elite Team: The U16s started their season with a Tier 1 Elite League Showcase in Boston going 3-1 on their weekend. Last weekend they played at BGSU and swept Michigan Hockey Advancement.
  • U18 Elite Team: The U18s kicked it off with attendance at the Tier 1 Elite League Showcase in Boston. In addition, they took to the road at BGSU and swept Michigan Hockey Advancement’s U18 Team.
  • Lady Barons U10 Team: The U10 Lady Barons Team participated in a highly recognized all-girls tournament in Oakville, Canada and represented the organization well. The team went 3-0-1 against all strong Canadian teams, losing in the semifinals 2-0 to a solid Oakville Hornets. As a part-time team, this was the first time these girls skated with each other and they had a great time getting to know their teammates!
  • Lady Barons U12 Elite Team: The U12 Lady Barons Elite Team started their season playing in the Cleveland Barons 216 Tournament Series. They took on the weekend strong and landed themselves in the finals with a 2-1 record facing a team they lost to the night before. They came away strong with a Championship Win over the Northeast Wisconsin Jr. Gamblers!
  • Lady Barons U12 Black Team: The U12 Lady Barons Black Team participated in an all-girls tournament in Oakville, Canada to kickoff their tournament season. Having a tough schedule but beating 4 solid Canadian teams thru the semifinals only to lose in the final 1-0 against Sarnia Sting who had not given up a goal the entire weekend!
  • Lady Barons U14 Elite Team: The U14 Lady Barons Elite Team has started their season off strong, going 6-3-2 after weekends at home, Ohio State and Canada!
  • Lady Barons U14 Black Team: The U14 Lady Barons Black Team kicked off their season at home v. the North Pittsburgh Wildcats, which landed them 2 solid wins!

Great job to all our teams in the start of their season! We are looking forward to another great month of Barons Hockey in October!
